Tynewydd Farm recently featured on ‘Help My House is Haunted’, visited by a trio of ghostbusters to see if they could make contact with some of the former residents. Tynewydd Farm is a beautiful Welsh farmhouse and is said to be one of the older houses in the area, steeped in eerie history.
During the show Martin commented “I would say the house definitely has energy – I’m pretty convinced that there is a spirit here, and hopefully it knows that I’m its friend. I’m not about kicking out a spirit that’s living here in peace and has got some history with the place – I’m a custodian of this place for a relatively short period of time but I am doing my bit while I’m here.
I really hope the team can make any bad stuff realise this isn’t a good place for it to be and make the good stuff – make them realise I’m here to help and that they are welcome to stay as long as they want”.

The Paranormal experts who visited Tynewydd Farm included Jayne Harris – Paranormal Researcher, Barri Ghai – Paranormal Consultant and Ian Lawman – Exorcist and Medium.
During the show, Jayne meets up with a local Welsh historian, Tracey Turner to try to unearth some unusual history of the ancient farmhouse. During their investigations, they managed to establish the house dates all the way back to 1652 and was originally owned by the Edwards family for many family generations. Throughout the course of its history, the farmhouse has seen many family tragedies, including family members going missing while walking in the surrounding mountains as well as the last Edwards family member, Margaret Edwards passing away in the farmhouse in the mide 19th Century.
Not long after purchasing the property, Martin began renovating and hired a team of builders who stayed in the property while renovating. As part of the show, Harry and Mark returned to the farmhouse to give their account of experiences while staying at the farmhouse.
During the first evening, Harry had to change bedrooms because of all the scary things going on in his room. During the interview, he recalls how the lights were flickering on and off which made him quickly vacate the bedroom and later refused to go back in. Other experiences included random noises throughout the night, the sound of metal clanging as well as the lights randomly switching on and off.
During the show, the house is blessed and Ian says a prayer to help any lingering spirits who may want to cross over to the light.
Whilst listening and recording with specialist equipment, the team pickup a series of strange sounds and voices walking throughout the house.
When visiting the hallway, Barri spots a mysterious dark figure at the top of the stairs, suspecting it could be one of the former residents, perhaps one of the two children, the older gentlemen or Margaret Edwards herself.
At the end of the investigation, the team reviewed all the imagery and sounds captured throughout the night, including the mysterious unearthed navigation directions which they later follow which takes them to a particular road in the area; Margaret Street.
The team comment that they can see Martin’s emotionally and spiritually connected with the house, and its former residents and only wants to share the farmhouse and live peacefully together. At the end of the show, the team plays a recorded sound clip previously captured which appears to say “thank you”.
Further Notes
We leave it to those who visit to make their own judgment, however we cannot guarantee a meeting with any of our long-standing former residents nor are we responsible in any way if you do. All we ask is that you’re respectful of the house and those from down the centuries to whom some believe it is still their home.
